- What is STRIP’s cancellation policy?
We require a 12-hour notice to cancel any appointment. Once an appointment is booked – unless we hear from you – we’ll expect you to be there. No-show and same-day cancellations will be charged 50% of the service booked to the card number with which they were held. - Are children allowed in the salon?
Children under 12 are not permitted in treatment areas, and should not be left unsupervised in waiting area.
- Where is STRIP Waxing Salon located?
STRIP Waxing Salon is located in Billings, Montana in The Shops at Shiloh Crossing. - How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
Your hair should grow to at least ¼ inch – this is about the length of your lower eyelash. If it’s longer, don’t worry; our waxing specialists will take care of you! It is better to come in and let us help, rather than trimming or shaving longer hair, before your visit. This could result in hair that is too short to properly wax. - Should I take any pain medication before my visit?
We advise taking Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment, if you have a low pain tolerance. - How often should I schedule my waxing appointments?
Everyone is different, and growth cycles can vary. Many people get waxed every 3 weeks, and some can go as long as 5 weeks! Start by booking your appointments at about 4 weeks, and we can adjust it for you based on your noticed growth. - What if I have allergies, acne, or am taking medications?
If you have allergies, or are taking any medications, let your waxing specialist know before your appointment. Antibiotics and topical acne medications (including Accutane, Differin, Retin A, prednisone or corticosteroids) can make your skin more sensitive and potentially susceptible to some skin lifting. - Will waxing affect my pregnancy?
No! Your pregnancy is unaffected by waxing, and we would love to help you, Momma! Once in awhile, your skin may be a bit more sensitive, but your waxing specialist will discuss this with you, before your appointment. - I’m on my period, can I still get waxed?
Of course! Remember that increase skin sensitivity is normal during menses, but ibuprofen will help! Take some about 30 minutes before your visit, and be sure to change to a clean tampon just before your wax. - Is there an age limit for waxing?
You are never too old for waxing! If you’re under 18, your parents will have to decide if you’re ready, and accompany you to your initial appointment to sign your paperwork, and let us know you’re good to go! - Do men really get waxed? What do they do?
Yes! We have many male clients who get waxed daily! We offer all of the same services to men, as we do women. Most men come in for chest waxing, back, nose, ears, and even Manzilians (the male version of a Brazilian). See a full list of our services by checking out our service menu. - Should I trim or shave between visits?
Don’t be tempted! Waxing will leave you stubble-free, and you’ll love it. Not shaving or trimming will help you work toward the finer growth pattern that we are hoping to achieve after several waxing cycles. Take time to book your appointments close enough together to avoid the temptation to shave! No more trimmers or razors! - Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
Not at all! With each waxing visit, your hair will begin to grow back at a finer texture. It becomes easier and quicker to remove with each visit. The more you wax, the less it hurts! - What if I have a sunburn?
Sunburns need to be healed before getting waxed, to avoid skin lifting during the treatment. This could be extremely painful, so please let your waxing specialist know if you’re experiencing sun sensitivity that isn’t visible. Rashes and other skin irritations must be healed as well, to avoid similar injury. - What if I have never had my eyebrows waxed or shaped?
We take special care to help you decide the right brow shape for your face shape and features. No matter where you start, with time and patience, we can help you achieve your desired brow look with our signature brow design services. - How long does a Brazilian take?
With our exclusive speed waxing techniques, the actual waxing process takes about 15-20 minutes. That means within 30 minutes, you’ll be waxed and rescheduled for your next service before lunch is over! - What about tanning after?
We advise waiting at least 48 hours after any waxing service before sun exposure. If you can’t avoid the sun, be sure to apply SPF protection to all exposed skin. - Can I get a spray tan or use self-tanner?
Spray tanning before waxing would cause definite discoloration where the tan has been applied. We advise waiting 24 hours to apply self tanner or spray tan. But remember! Self-tanner reacts with the keratin in your skin to create a “stain”. Waxing will remove the top layer (dead skin) and can make your glow look patchy and uneven. - How soon can I workout, after my wax?
Sweating and increased heat in sensitive areas can irritate your skin after waxing. We suggest avoiding the gym or workouts for 24-48 hours, after your services. - I have ingrown hairs, should I pick them?
Ingrown hairs can be painful and annoying. Don’t be tempted to pick or pull them out, as that can result in scarring and infection. Our waxing specialists can recommend an exfoliation regimen, and pre/post waxing care. Be sure to have clean hands if touching freshly waxed skin, and try not touch too much! - I’ve heard caffeine makes skin more sensitive, is this true?
Unfortunately, your morning mocha might need to wait! Caffeine can make your skin more sensitive during waxing. Taking some IB Profuen before your visit can help curb this! - Should I be exfoliating?
Exfoliating is important after waxing, to help prevent ingrown hairs. We recommend starting 24-48 hours after your wax, and can recommend products and routines. Ask your waxing specialist for more information on the products we carry in-store. - How about hot baths or hot tubs?
Hot baths and hot tubs can cause irritation and infection. Try to keep freshly waxed areas free from hot environments (saunas, hot tubs, baths, even swimming pools) for 24-48 hours. - What should I wear to my appointment?
We suggest loose fitting cotton clothing. Tighter clothing can rub on those sensitive areas and increase chance of irritation or infection. - I’ve heard waxing my nostrils will hurt more than tweezing?
Tweezing HURTS! Waxing is less painful and much faster than tweezing! - I have an event coming up, and am new to waxing. When should I schedule my appoinment?
We suggest having 1-2 appointments before your special event, so that you are aware of how your skin responds to waxing! - How long do I need to wait before getting intimate?
We suggest waiting 24-48 hours before getting intimate. With freshly waxed skin, your pores are open and surface is susceptible to irritation and bacteria. - When can I use lotion or deodorant?
Avoid lotions, deodorant or oils for several hours after waxing. Clogged pores can result from using any products not offered as post-care, directly after waxing. - What is the difference between a basic bikini and an extended bikini?
Ideal for a first time waxer, the Basic Bikini Wax is exactly as the name would suggest, a tidy up around the edges. A good option if you want to keep things on the natural side, but prefer a little more definition. Hair is removed from anywhere outside of a modest panty line to top of thigh. Does not include upper leg. Extended bikini is a good option if you still want to keep things on the natural side, but prefer even more definition than our Basic Bikini. Hair is removed inward/center up to 1.5 inches from modest panty line. Does not include upper leg.
